Beverly Hills Post Office

H.Beverly Hills Post OfficeBeverly Hills Post Office is the hilly neighborhood coined by the locals as the portion of Beverly Hills that is, simply, not geographically flat. This part of the community is the area that carries the well-known 90210 zip code. It sits just north of Sunset. The luxury residential homes in the area have the advantage of having properties with views as compared to the Flats. However, homes within the “Post Office” are more affordable allowing access to the coveted Beverly Hills School System without having to purchase the super mansions in the Flats. Within the community, which pays taxes directly to the city of Los Angeles, most of the services come from the city as opposed to Beverly Hills. Yet, many people prefer the hillside plots in areas like Trousdale Estates and Holmby Hills.

Beverly Hills Post Office were originally purchased and occupied as a possible plot to mine for oil. After no such oil was found, the land that then belonged to Rodeo Land and Water was reorganized and subdivided to build homes on. It was developed by “Beverly Farms” a company based in Beverly, Massachusetts. Due to the hilly geography, they coined the community, “Beverly Hills”. The first house was constructed in 1907.

Soon after, emerged the film industry based in adjoining Hollywood, where many of the stars began seeking out large hillside lots. Some celebrities that have lived or continue to live in 90210 are Marilyn Monroe, Demi Moore, Brittany Spears, Hillary Duff, and Ed McMahon.
