Studio City

H.StudioCityStudio City is a coveted community with a great history and some great neighborhoods with spectacular views of the San Fernando Valley. Studio City was named after the studio lot established by producer Mark Sennett in 1927–who began with just 20 acres. It is now currently called the CBS Studio Center.Studio City now sits between Hollywood and Sherman Oaks with many luxury residential communities. The land was originally part of Rancho Ex-Mission San Fernando and later known as Laurelwood. After changing hands many times, around the turn of the century, J. B. Lankershim and eight other developers who organized the Lankershim Ranch Land and Water Company began to develop the land. Yet, it then lost its water rights until the Los Angeles Aqueduct was built, and real estate boomed immediately afterwards. The remaining 47,500 acres were then acquired, and the town limits grew into what is now Studio City.

According to the Mapping L.A. project of the Los Angeles Times, “Studio City is bordered on the north by Valley Village, on the east by Toluca Lake and Universal City, on the south by Hollywood Hills West, on the southwest by Beverly Crest and on the west by Sherman Oaks”. It has been the home for many past and present celebrities such as Gene Autry, George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Zac Efron, Ryan Gosling, Neil Patrick Harris, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, William Shatner, and Sofía Vergara.
